Axis Bank e-statements pair a password-protected PDF with some of the longest UPI narrations in Indian banking — references that wrap across lines and defeat copy-paste. Conversion unwraps them onto single rows.
Convert the statement first
- Upload the Axis PDF to the converter and enter the statement password — the covering email states the exact format, commonly a combination of your name and date of birth. The password opens the file and is never stored.
- Wrapped narrations are stitched back onto one row each, Dr/Cr amounts become signed values, lakh grouping becomes standard decimals — and the statement is reconciled against its printed opening and closing balances.
- Download the Excel export — clean, typed columns.
Import into Tally
- In TallyPrime, press Alt+O (Import) → Bank Statement on the Axis ledger, or use your practice's Excel import route.
- The exported columns — date, narration, amount, balance — line up with what the import expects; the full UPI/NEFT/IMPS reference rides along on every row.
- Verify the closing balance against the statement — it will match, because the conversion had to reconcile before export.
Axis-specific notes
- Narrations are the payoff: Axis packs the payer, UPI handle and reference into one long string. It survives conversion in full, so receipts match invoices in Tally without detective work.
- One row per transaction, guaranteed: wrapped description lines are collapsed before export, so a two-line narration never imports as two entries.
