Data retention settings explained

Retention controls how long your extracted rows and exports stay available. The original PDFs are always deleted the moment processing finishes — retention never extends that.

The options

In Team settings → Retention, owners and admins can choose: 30 minutes, 1 hour (the default), 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.

Choosing a window

Short windows (30 minutes, 1 hour) suit confidential client work — convert, export, and the data is gone almost immediately. Longer windows (7 or 30 days) suit teams that convert in batches and export later, or want a working buffer during a messy month-end.

What expiry looks like

When a conversion passes its retention window it's marked Expired in your history: the row data and exports are purged, while the metadata line (file name, pages, date) stays for your records. Expiry runs automatically every ten minutes — no action needed.

Guests

Guest conversions (without an account) use a fixed 1-hour window, and their rows are fully purged within a day.
